Why travel all the way to Northern California when you got some of the best wineries located within 60 minute drive from San Diego. Temecula is one the fastest growing wine regions in California. First winery that opened in Temecula was in 1975, and since then more than 40 wineries have opened since then. Temecula wineries are known for the diversity of their wine from red to white, dry to sweet and more.
So here are my top 5 favorite wineries:
1.MIRAMONTE CELLARS
Miramonte is located on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the valley. I really recommend going there with a group of friends, to hangout or celebrate special-occasions. They have really nice outdoor seating area and outdoor restaurant. They have table and cabana reservations that are only available to club member. They do live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Wine tasting is $20 on weekends. I don’t recommend getting food from there since the restaurant is always busy but I love their charcuterie board and salads that you can share with friends, and it is just perfect to pair with wine. They also do tours, reservation is required. They actually have deals on Groupon, I would really suggest to get a Groupon deal before going it will save you money.

2. WILSON CREEK WINERY
Wilson is a family friendly winery. It is a very nice winery and reasonable prices on wine. They have great indoor and outdoor area, plenty of outdoor seating. I really enjoy their outdoor grass and creek area, they usually play live music on the weekends. They have some unique wine. My favorite is the Almond sparkling wine, it is a must try at Wilson Creek, it is one of their award winning. They have great salads and appetizers to pair with wine. I would really suggest going there if you have kids, it is a great place to relax while kids can run around.

3. MONTE DE ORO WINERY
If you are looking for a small winery with nice views and great romantic vibe, I would really suggest going to Monte De Oro. It is not as busy as the other wineries in Temecula. The wine tasting room looks over their beautiful vineyards, there is also a bistro that you can order lunch while wine tasting. I really suggest trying the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Moscato, my absolute favorite at Monte De Oro.

4.EUROPA VILLAGE
Europa Village is a gorgeous winery with a Mediterranean European feel. They have plenty of outdoor seating with amazing views. they have two different tasting packages, standard for $20 six tastes and premium $30 for eight. I really enjoy their sparkling Moscato. It is a beautiful place to chill with friends and family, they also allow you to bring your pets.

5. OAK MOUNTAIN WINERY
I would really suggest doing a tour at Oak Mountain. The design of the cave is super cool. Make sure to get a Groupon before you go, they have a 2 for 1 deal that includes cave wine tasting with meat and cheese tray, but make sure you make reservation before going there. They have great wines and amazing views to take pictures. I really suggest this winery for couples, since it got a romantic vibe to it

Each one of those wineries I listed above has it’s own uniqueness. If you are in the area I would really suggest checking out those wineries. It is also so much fun to hangout with your friends and family and relax for couple of hours. I would also celebrating special events there, like birthday’s, bridal parties and more. There’s so much to do in Temecula from wine Tasting, to horse back riding and hot air balloon ride.
